New Business Pop-Tarts Feature File Pockets, Built-In Day Planner

The food brand Pop-Tarts®, known for its line of heat-and-serve food products, has introduced a new line of Business Pop-Tarts® for the on-the-go professional. Parent company Kellogg® believes the new product will fill a gap in an already saturated convenience food market, appealing to office workers increasingly too busy to eat.

“It’s always either been pack my briefcase or eat breakfast. Now I don’t have to choose,” says Gary Russbend, Senior Vice President of Marketing at a prominent global consulting firm.

Pop-Tarts® points to multifunctional features of the snack as its appeal. The tarts include a frosting white board for making memos while a flaky layer of pastry keeps important documents and gooey filling separate. Its pull-out Post-It® notes with jam adhesive remain re-positionable for weeks, and a handful of tarts can interlock and create a cubicle divider.

The manufacturer believes the versatility of the food item/office supply will free employees from the need for food breaks on particularly hectic workdays, creating a convenient workplace tool that takes only seconds to eat, saving consumers valuable time that could be spent working.

Kellogg currently offers the Business Pop Tart® in original Manilla Latte® flavor, but this fall will introduce Lawberry®, Choc-late Nights at the Office®, Working Over-Lime®, S’more Profits®, and a cross-over 5-Hour Energy®-infused option to keep workers alert during long conference calls.

If the new product is a success, Pop-Tarts® plans to expand with a more affordable option for hourly wage workers, a scanner holder/pastry pocket for Amazon® Fulfillment workers and a meal that doubles as a visor for Starbucks® baristas.
